Scouts Section

Scouts must be at least ten and a half years and may stay Scouts until their fifteenth birthday. The Scout Troop is organised into Patrols led by a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. The Patrol System is the principal means the Scouts learn to be responsible in a variety of different situations. Camping and other adventurous activities, including water and boating activities, are important in the scouting years. The Scout promises to live by the Scout Promise and the Scout Law that provides moral and ethical standards to live up to.

Scouts section of young men and women between the ages from 11 to 15 enjoy the normal scouting type activities, as well as the opportunity of boating activities.

Scouts meet Wednesday evenings 1900 to 2100 at SSS Seafire. 2nd Mornington Scouts are extremely proud of there two wooden Pulling boats. Scouts have achieved great results in Traditional Rowing competition over the years at various Scouting Regattas and events. To this end I have put together from varying sources on reference material for the scouts to learn the theory components of Traditional Rowing. These guides Pulling Boats and Seaman Ship are not exhaustive, but I hope it will provide guidance to scouts and other interested parties.
